Dr. Tawainga Katsvairo

Dr. Tawainga Katsvairo is a consultant, project manager and strategists on a wide range of  projects where he works with small startup companies to high asset and publically traded companies. He is widely recognized for his dedication to K-12 STEM education.

 Dr. Katsvairo has appeared on TV and in newspapers and magazines as an expert in renewable energy, agronomy  and environmental conservation. He is recognized in the science world for his research on perennial grasses. He is extensively published in the scientific arena on agricultural and environmental topics, where some of his research has been designated as exemplary scholarly work.

 Dr. Katsvairo is also a music composer who has writes beautiful and lyrical music and dances for a wide range of instrumentation. His compositions include music for wind symphony, swing band, solo piano, piano duo, flute and songs.  Visit: https://www.tawainga.com. Tawinga is writing a few novels based on true stories.

 Dr. Katsvairo earned his M.Sc. from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. Tawainga is former board member of the Tallahassee Symphony Society where he is a recipient of the Donna O’Meara award, board member for the Tallahassee Music Guild and a Rotarian.


Dr. Fanchon Felice Funk

Dr. Fanchon (Fancy) Felice Funk brings to BUC over 30 years of management of education initiatives at K-12 and college levels. Among the several roles Dr Funk has held at Florida State University (FSU) are Associate Director for the Center for Performance Technology and Director of Clinical Education for the College of Education. She co-designed two courses offered by The Walt Disney World Company and FSU. These two courses attracted over 16,000 educators throughout the world. Funk is a recipient of the President's Excellence in Teaching Award and Professor of the Year at the FSU Panama City Campus. The National Association of Teacher Educators recognized Funk as “one of 70 distinguished leaders in teacher education.”

The President of the United States, George H. W. Bush, recognized Funk as a "Point of Light" for her volunteer work with Tennis With a Different Swing, Inc. in 1991. She received “The Governor’s Presidential Daily Point of Light” Award for groundbreaking research with captive swans in 2005. She has co-authored nine books and has written numerous articles for professional journals. Professional programs for public and private organizations have included Dr. Funk’s presentations in the US, the Caribbean, South Africa, and Europe.

Funk completed two undergraduate degrees from Western Carolina University, a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Education. She has a Masters Degree in Biology and Education from Appalachian State University and a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with collateral studies in Higher Education and Public Health, at the University of Tennessee/Knoxville.


Ms. Anne Phipps

Ms Anne Phipps is a community volunteer and dedicated environmentalist. In addition to serving on the BUC Technologies Foundation Board, Anne is on the Goodwood Museum and Garden Board, the Tallahassee Symphony Board, Friends of Dance at FSU Board, and the STAC Board (an anti-trafficking organization). She is a former member of the Refuge House Board (the domestic violence shelter). She holds an advanced teaching credential from the University of California, Berkeley.


Dr. Thomas Cellucci

Dr. Thomas Cellucci is a managing partner of a private equity fund and senior executive or board member in both the private and public sectors. He was appointed the first Chief Commercialization Officer in the US Federal government and has worked with three US Presidents, George W Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.

Dr. Cellucci was an early pioneer in advancing the field of nanotechnology in American science, engineering, and manufacturing. He was instrumental in making progress with America’s nanotechnology agenda through his bi-partisan work with Presidents Bill Clinton and George W Bush and other leaders in the US Senate and House. Dr. Cellucci has received numerous awards from industry, government, and business.

Dr. Cellucci served as a Fellow with the Smithsonian Institution’s James Smithson Society working with the National Portrait Gallery’s American Presidents Collection.

Dr. Cellucci earned a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Rutgers University, and a BS in Chemistry from Fordham University.


Mr. Christopher Weider

As a teacher at Success Academy in Tallahassee, Florida, Mr. Christopher Weider provides the school teacher perspective to the foundation. He holds an MS in Chemistry from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
