FSU Center for Global Engagement Highlights Our Work with the Haiti Grass Project
We’re proud to share that our organization was recently highlighted by the Center for Global Engagement at Florida State University for our collaboration on the Haiti Grass Project.
The featured article celebrates the inspiring efforts of Andrea Strickland, a Political Science senior and Pre-Law student, whose passion for global service led her to champion our cause. After learning about the Haiti Grass Project in her Global Perspectives class through a presentation by our Executive Director, Dr. Tawainga Katsvairo, Andrea took initiative to support our mission by organizing a successful fundraising campaign within her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta.
Her leadership and dedication resulted in a $636 donation, directly supporting our work to fight environmental degradation and stimulate economic development in Haiti. Andrea’s story is a testament to how education, civic engagement, and grassroots action can come together to create real global change.
We’re honored to be recognized in this spotlight and deeply grateful for Andrea’s contributions. Her continued involvement, including plans to intern with the Haiti Grass Project as part of her Global Citizenship Certificate, exemplifies the kind of meaningful collaboration that drives our mission forward.
